I like reading your blog as it gives me a bit of interest on a dull Sunday while I am cooking shepherd’s pie and the laptop’s in the next room.

I wondered about Hurricane Ike because of reading about it here, but looking on the news the worst is past and it is not on the scale of Katrina. Usually they name Hurricanes after women for some reason (probably sexist), but this one is after a man, Ike Turner probably. Who names them, and why?

Haven’t been around here for a few days and am just catching up with things, Irene. Hope your daughter is OK. Have you heard from her in the meantime?

And, did your hair turn out just right after you slept on it? I like going to the hairdresser, too. Mostly anyway. Lately I’ve been trying to let mine grow, so when I go I usually only get a tiny bit cut off to make it look a bit better. I hate that “in between” stage when you can’t yet tie it back but it looks very untidy otherwise. *sigh*

Delivery people are a pain in the neck. I speak as one who gets and sign all the parcels round here now for people who aren’t in, most are out working, and often I deliver them to them myself.

I don’t know ‘it’s all a bit of a pain in the neck, but nothing compared to Hurricane Ike, of course’ was meant to be a joke, but I laughed because I have a warped sense of humour LOL

Glad to hear from Maureen that it wasn’t as bad as they first thought and hope your daughter is OK. I’m sure the authorities know what they are doing.

How awesome to have the time to drop by again.
I love your stories, your wit. Love the hair salon scenario and the story of your sister. I am the eldest of 3 and the next one down from me is my polar opposite. How that happend I don’t know!
Keep well and warm, sleep only in safe places and try not to worry about your daughter.

Fingers crossed here too that your daughter and others are well in Houston. You are right, it isn’t as bad as they first thought, but I did see there are a lot of power outages that may take a long time to repair.
